Loving mother of Cindy Mendiola, late Barbara (John) Koehler and late John (Carol) Mendiola Jr. Caring grandmother of Christopher Mertl, Nicholas Mertl, Heather Mertl, John (Daisy) Mendiola III and Melissa Mendiola. Devoted great grandmother of Angel Mendiola. Cherished sister of the late Charlie (late Celia) Rivera, Roy (Mardene) Rivera, Hilda (David) Pennington, Richard (Mary Ellen) Rivera, Robert (Rosie) Rivera, David (Josie) Rivera and Norma (late Herbie) Cruz. Kind aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Charles and Consuelo Rivera. Gloria worked in the Chicago Public School System for 41 years.
